Acceptable Use Policy

Draft version -- effective date to be set at general availability.

Draft. This page is a starting template with reasonable defaults, not final legal text. It hasn't been reviewed by counsel and will be revised before Mila is generally available.

1. Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to every domain, mailbox, and API key hosted on Mila. By sending or receiving mail through Mila, you agree to it alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. What Mila is for

Mila hosts real, human-driven email for domains you own or control -- correspondence between people, mailing lists you and your recipients actually opted into, and application notifications sent at a volume consistent with normal personal or small-team use.

3. Prohibited uses

Regardless of plan or volume, you may not use Mila to: send unsolicited bulk email (spam) of any kind; distribute malware, phishing content, or other material intended to compromise a recipient's system or credentials; harvest, sell, or trade recipient addresses collected without consent; impersonate a person or organization you do not represent; or violate the acceptable-use terms of any network your mail transits.

We may suspend or throttle a mailbox or domain that appears to be doing any of the above while we investigate, without prior notice, if we reasonably believe continued sending would harm deliverability for other Mila customers or the wider mail ecosystem.

4. Volume and plan limits

Each plan has published per-day sending and receiving limits (see our Pricing page) sized for real conversational and small-team use. Using automation to route bulk or transactional traffic through a plan that was not sized for it is a violation of this policy, independent of whether any individual message would otherwise be allowed.

5. Security

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials, API keys, and DNS records secure. Report a suspected compromise of your account or domain to us as soon as you notice it so we can help contain it.

6. Enforcement

Violations may result in a warning, temporary suspension, or termination of the affected domain or account, depending on severity and whether it is a first occurrence. We aim to notify you and explain the reason whenever it is safe and practical to do so before taking action, and always afterward.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Mila's service evolves. Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date.
